Before Ye Chen could respond to Chu Xuan's question to be her disciple, Elder Xu casts a spell on Ye Chen causing him to kneel down. Chu Xuan takes his gesture as accepting her as his teacher. Elder Xu congratulates Ye Chen. Chu Xuan wants Ye Chen to first pass the outer competition to be her disciple.

Chu Xuan caught up to Ye Chen and tied him up because he is trying to run away. Ye Chen started to apologize for what happened in the cave, thinking that it is Chu Ling. Chu Xuan proceeds to ask if Ye Chen is a student of the Hengyue sect. Ye Chen is relieved that she did not recognize him and indicates that he is a student but has lost the badge to prove it.
